Out to investigate Pune with a day close by and no proper plans, we were considering where to head, in the middle of throwing choices between places inside Pune versus journeys past Pune when our driver strongly suggested Saswad and we agreed to it.

Saswad is blesssed with various fortifications in and around itself and a trip down one of them is perhaps of the most ideal way o experience the excellence of the landscape. Malhargad stronghold, Vajragad post, Rajgad stronghold and Torana fortress stand surrounding the town, obviously proposing that Saswad was once in the commotion of pro fighting exercises did by the Maratha rulers.
